Tour Bus & Heavy Equipment Jump Start — 24 Volt

Most motorcoaches and a lot of heavy equipment run 24-volt starting systems that a regular jumper can't touch. We carry professional 12V/24V jump-start equipment and come to the coach or the machine — hotel curb, staging lot, yard or job site — 24 hours a day.

What we jump-start

Where coaches usually die

The classic call is a morning no-start: the coach sat overnight at a hotel or staging lot with lights, climate control or the fridge running, and the batteries are too low to crank. We cover hotel curbs and loading zones in San Francisco and Oakland, Union Square and Fisherman's Wharf staging, airport and event staging lots, and winery and venue lots in Napa and Sonoma. For heavy-duty calls we dispatch 100+ miles across Northern California.

We check the system before we connect

Coach and equipment battery banks are wired differently from car batteries — usually two or more 12-volt batteries in series for 24 volts, sometimes with a master disconnect or a dedicated jump stud. Connecting the wrong voltage can damage expensive electronics, so we meter the system and confirm it's compatible with our equipment before we connect. Tell dispatch the make and model (MCI, Prevost, Van Hool, Cat, Deere…) and whether anything clicks or cranks, and we'll give you an honest answer on the phone.

A boost gets a low bank started. If a bank has completely failed, or the batteries keep going flat, a jump isn't the fix — we test the batteries and charging system on scene so you know whether it's the batteries, the alternator or a drain before the next trip.

12-volt trucks are a separate page

Most US semis, box trucks and diesel pickups run 12-volt systems with several batteries in parallel. See semi truck & 12V heavy-duty jump starts. Warning lights or a derate as well? We bring mobile diesel diagnostics on the same call.
