Bikes are not small cars

A motorcycle's electrical system will not tolerate a truck-sized jump, its battery may be under a fairing, and its fuel reserve is a petcock or a light rather than a gauge you trust. We bring low-amp boost equipment, we know where the batteries live on most models, and we bring fuel in a can you can actually pour into a tank with a narrow filler. Riders helped by people who ride.

Where riders get stuck

Grizzly Peak and the Berkeley hills, the Marin Headlands and Highway 1 via the Richmond bridge, the I-880 and I-80 commute, and the Oakland and SF streets where a bike that sat for a week won't turn over. Tell dispatch the cross street and whether you're on a grade; on a hill we'll want to move the bike to flat ground before working on it.

While you wait

Get the bike off the roadway and stand well clear of the traffic side. On a carbureted bike, try the reserve petcock — sometimes that's the ride home. On a fuel-injected bike that cranks but won't fire, stop cranking; you're draining a battery we'll then have to jump.
