A note on diesel

Many diesel engines need to be primed after running completely dry, or they'll crank without starting even with fuel in the tank. Tell dispatch it's a diesel and whether it died while driving — that tells us to bring the priming gear, not just the can.

While you wait

Don't keep cranking a dry diesel; you'll drain the batteries and we'll be doing a jump start too. Hazards on, and if you're on a grade, chock the wheels.
